We make videos for people trying to make things better.

That means we hold ourselves to the same standard we help our clients communicate.

Here’s what we’re committed to and how we actually try to live it.

SECTION 1: Who We Are

Patchbay Media is a small, mission-driven video production company working with organizations in health advocacy, clean energy, education, and civic causes. We’re based in Washington, DC and London, UK.

We’re in the process of certifying as a B Corp. Not because it’s a marketing move, but because it gives us a framework to stay accountable to the things we say we care about.

SECTION 2: Our Commitments

Human Rights

We believe every person involved in our work deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. That includes our team, our clients, and the communities whose stories we tell.

We’re committed to upholding the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and we expect the same of the contractors and partners we work with. Our contractor agreements include human rights and core labor standards as a formal requirement.

If you ever have a concern about how we’re operating, we want to hear it. Email us at feedback@patchbaymedia.com.

Climate

We’re committed to doing our part to limit global warming to 1.5°C, in line with the Paris Agreement.

Honestly, as a small video production company, our direct environmental footprint is pretty modest. But we take it seriously anyway, because the clients we work with are often on the front lines of the climate fight, and we want to walk the talk. We’re developing a formal climate action plan and will publish it here when complete.

We’re also proud members of Clean Creative, which means we don’t work with fossil fuel companies. That’s a line we’ve drawn and intend to keep.

Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

We’re committed to building a company and producing work that reflects the full range of human experience.

Internally, that means applying a JEDI lens to how we hire, how we write policies, and how we treat everyone who works with us.

In our creative work, it means thinking carefully about representation, authentic voices, avoiding stereotypes, and making content that’s genuinely accessible to everyone.

We’ve put these commitments into writing in our forthcoming Inclusive Language and Ethical Storytelling Guide, which applies to everyone working on a Patchbay Media project.

Accessibility

Impactful video should be available to everyone. We’re committed to producing video content that meets accessibility standards, including captions, audio description, and color contrast compliance.

For government and federally-funded projects, we deliver content that meets Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. But we try to bring that same care to everything we make, not just when it’s required.

Feedback & Grievances

We’re a small team, and we try to stay genuinely open to feedback. The good kind and the hard kind.

If you have a concern about anything we’re doing, whether you’re a client, a contractor, a collaborator, or a community member, you can reach us at feedback@patchbaymedia.com. We take every message seriously and will respond.

SECTION 3: B Corp Certification

We’re currently going through the B Corp certification process with B Lab. B Corp certification is one of the most rigorous third-party standards for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

We’ll update this page as we progress through the certification process.

Talk to a real life client of ours!

Instead of talking to someone on the Patchbay team, we think it’s more valuable to hear directly from the people we work with. They’ll give you an unfiltered opinion about the process, the partnership, and the results.

Choose a time over here and we’ll match you with a client who has worked with us on a project similar to yours. 👉
